Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Sanctions team:
Hire, lead, develop and manage a Sanctions team, including amongst others administrative tasks such as scheduling, interviewing, organising team activities etc.
Measure team's KPIs, plan capacity and maintain focus on customer experience; as well as taking ownership of various projects
Develop effective operational processes, task allocation, training and performance management to deliver a great customer experience with a tightly managed cost base
Collaborate with Wise’s Quality team to maintain a high quality of sanctions checks that were performed by the team
Take decisions within our policy framework and working with compliance to evolve both our policies and processes
Understand and manage training the team on our regulatory obligations, how our policies fulfil them and our risk-based approach to deterring and preventing money laundering and financial crime
Able to represent the policies, processes and auditable screening work to regulators and auditors
Work with third party management, outsourcing partners, product teams, customer support and across compliance to manage operational impact of changes and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience, increase automation or improve operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
About you:
You’re legally authorised to work in the US, we are unable to sponsor visa for this role
You have at least 1-2 years sanctions specific experience, either in operations, management or compliance
You have management experience in operations or compliance.
You have previous work experience in the financial sector, compliance or similar (that has given you strong compliance knowledge and a good understanding of the relevant regulatory landscape); Sanctions experience is a big plus;
You can multitask and take charge in different situations
You have the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
You have great communication and presentations skills to assist on internal and external projects and audits
You have a good understanding of the team’s metrics and ability to analyse and move them
You have a proven track record of taking ownership as well as being a great team-player
You are familiar with reading legal and regulatory documents, formulating strategy to make informed decisions, and successfully execute plans
You are able to persevere in a fast paced environment
